Moldovan electoral body approves models of ballot papers for elections due on 20 October 2019

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today approved the models of the ballot papers for the general local elections and new parliamentary polls due on 20 October 2019.
At a meeting, CEC Secretary Maxim Lebedinschi has said that the ballot papers would be printed on dull paper and will be distinguished according to colour. Thus, the ballot paper for the election of the mayor of village (commune), town (municipality) will have the rose colour; the ballot papers for the election of the Balti city mayor and Chisinau general mayor will have the violet colour; the ones for the election of councilors in the village (commune) councils will have gray smoky colour and the beige colour will be used for the ballot papers for the election of councilors in the district councils, as well as the Balti and Chisinau municipal councils.
Under CEC’s decision, each ballot paper will be divided into quadrilaterals with dimensions of 110 mm and 20 mm, the number of which fits the number of electoral contenders. The width of the ballot papers will be of 140 mm and the length of it depends on the number of competitors.
The symbol of the electoral contender will be printed on the left side of each quadrilateral and the name and Christian name, name of the party, social and political movement, electoral bloc or the inscription “independent candidate” will be put down in the centre of the quadrilateral and on and a circle will be printed on the right side, where the voter will put the stamp with the inscription Votat (Voted). The electoral contenders will be registered on the ballot papers with capital letters of the same size in the order resulted from the drawing of lots carried out by the district electoral councils.
The ballot papers for the new parliamentary elections will have the same features, excepting the colour, which will be pale brown.
The district electoral councils will approve the texts of the ballot papers and the decisions will be submitted to CEC, according to the terms established.
