Chisinau, 1 October /MOLDPRES/ - The second issue of the guide of good wines in Moldova, Fine Wine Guide 2019 – 50 Good Moldovan Wines, was presented at the Tourist Information Centre of Moldova today. The magazine was edited by the author of the wines blog www.finewine.md, Andrei Cibotaru.

The guide was published, for the first time ever, in bilingual edition: Romanian and English and is meant for wine lovers of Moldova, as well as from abroad. The publication contains the description of 50 top wines from Moldova, arranged in a non-hierarchic selection. There are 25 wine cellars represented in the guide, with dry, sparkling wines, ice-wine, white, rose and red wines, against 20 cellars in 2018.

Also, Fine Wine Guide contains information about the main varieties of grapes of Moldova, the vine-growing and wine-making zones, as well as information on the wine events and eno-gastronomic tourism in Moldova. The guide shows a new section: The Ambassadors of Wine – a narrative about five successful people who promote the Moldovan wine abroad, in Romania, France, Portugal or Japan.

„The guide has 4,000 copies, by 1,000 more than in 2018 and its electronic variant will soon appear, in Romanian and English, which could be accessed in any corner of the world,” the guide’s author said. He also said that Fine Wine Guide was willing to be a guide in the rich world of the Wine of Moldova.

Attending the event, Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Minister Georgeta Mincu highly appreciated the publication of the Guide, which she described as attractive and is meant to educate the culture of wine consumers. Mincu suggested that the Guide be also distributed to economic representations of the diplomatic missions from abroad.

Although 50 names of wines are included in the guide, Moldova can be proud of a wide range of good wines, the quality of which was proved at international contests, an expert of the National Office of Nine and Wine, Elizaveta Breahna, said.

Fine Wine Guide 2019 will be presented to the wide public on the Great National Assembly Square during the National Wine Day on 5-6 October 2019.

The guide is to be distributed to the HORECA industry, onboard the Air Moldova aircrafts, as well as at events dedicated to wine. Also, the publication will be present at the most important wine fairs from abroad, at wine contests and events for the promotion of the Wine of Moldova.

Fine Wine Guide was printed with the support of the National Office of Vine and Wine and the Moldova Competitiveness Project, financed by the United States Agency for International Development and the government of Sweden. The project’s general partner has been the Fourchette Gourmet for the second year in a row.
