Moldova, Turkey to set up council of bilateral collaboration

Chisinau, 12 December /MOLDPRES/ – The law for ratifying the Joint Declaration on the establishment of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Moldova and Turkey will be published on Friday, 13 December, in the Official Journal (MO).
The Council will be co – chaired by the Government of Moldova and the President of Turkey. The Council will establish the strategy of developing relations in the political, military, security, economic, commercial, energy, transport, agriculture, tourism, healthcare, culture, science and humanitarian fields. The meetings of the Council will be held at least every two years, alternatively in Moldova and Turkey. The Joint Strategic Planning Group, co – chaired by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, will be established within the Council.
The document will contribute to deepening and diversifying cooperation with Turkey, boosting economic relations, developing regional and international cooperation, as well as raising Moldovan – Turkish relations at the level of strategic partnership.
The diplomatic relations between Moldova and Turkey were established in 1992.
