Regulation on holding of fiscal lottery published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 27 December /MOLDPRES/ - A regulation on the holding of the Fiscal Lottery contest was published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today. The cabinet decision under which the regulation was approved will enter into force on 1 January 2020.    

According to the regulation, the contest will be organized by the State Fiscal Service in four stages; additionally, two special editions will be held – on the occasion of the Easter holidays and the winter ones. The total fund of earnings for the carrying out of the fiscal lottery amounts to one million lei and persons who are to pay by card in trade units or units for providing services will be nominated winners.  

A drawing of lots will be held for transactions worth more than 30 lei, carried out by cards at Points of Sale (POS) terminals served by licenced issuing commercial banks from Moldova, at each stage of the lottery.  

As many as 175 prizes worth 1,000 lei each will be awarded for each stage, by drawing laws, and 100 prizes worth 1,500 lei each for special editions, on the occasion of the Easter holidays and 100 prizes worth 1,500 lei, on the occasion of the winter holidays.   

The prizes will be transferred to winners on the card accounts, in Moldovan lei, in ten days after the publication of the winners’ list on the official webpage of the State Fiscal Service at the latest.

According to the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), more than 55 per cent of all operations with cards issued in Moldova, carried out in the country in the first nine months of 2019, represented non-cash payments. The number of non-cash payments by electronic payment instruments stood at 26.4 million, out of 47.3 million payments.
