Moldovan parliament speaker meets ambassador of Armenia

Chisinau, 23 January /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today met Ambassador of Armenia to Moldova Jivan Movsisyan, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.    

The speaker highlighted the very good friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries and peoples. “I am happy that Moldova has become the second home for the Armenian Diaspora, which, along with the representatives of other numerous nationalities, contributes to the development of the country,” Zinaida Greceanii said.   

The parliament speaker pointed out the considerable growth of the commercial and economic changes from the last years; in 2019, this volume stood at 4.5 million dollars, of which 3.5 million dollars – the export of Moldovan goods to Armenia.   

At the same time, the speaker thinks that there is a cooperation potential which has not been turned to good account between Moldova and Armenia. Greceanii said that Armenia’s experience of Eurasian cooperation, including in its capacity of member of the Eurasian Development Bank, was interesting for Moldova.  

Jivan Movsisyan stressed the full openness of Armenia for the extension of the cooperation with Moldova at the high level and between the local public authorities. He noted that numerous similarities between the two countries represented an additional advantage to this end.   

The ambassador conveyed to the speaker an invitation by the Armenian president to pay an official visit to Yerevan.
