Chisinau, 11 February /MOLDPRES/ - The service for taking over the 112 emergency calls has a new headquarters starting from today. Attending the inauguration event were more officials, among whom Economics and Infrastructure Minister Anatol Usatii.

The area of the new headquarters is of about 1,300 square metres and it has all needed infrastructure for the good work of the 112 Automated Information System. Also, the new headquarters meets the rigours of energy security and autonomy.

„The inauguration of the new headquarters of the 112 Service will enhance the quality of the emergency calls and the safety of this critical service for the citizens. Another important aspect is the fact that this building is the first centre for taking over calls from Europe,  as it is 100 per cent supplied with green energy, using the energy generated by the photovoltaic park from nearby, which is connected also to the standard energy supply networks,” Anatol Usatii said.

The economics minister informed that the 112 Service provided a “single window” for the taking over and management of emergency calls, coordination and synchronization of the activities of the emergency specialized services, their alerting and simultaneous involvement, by using the advanced functionalities of the automated information system of the 112 Service. Usatii specified that, in two years after the launch of the Service, more than 5.3 emergency calls had been taken over; on average, one operator takes over 250-300 calls in one shift.

In Moldova, the 112 Service is based on the most advanced technical solution in Europe, worked out by the Carmenta Swedish Company, which is currently used only in several EU member states. The system implemented allows the most advanced geographical localization of the caller and digitalizing all processes, which enhanced the efficiency of the electronic networks and services. Thus, the 112 Service from Moldova is included in the Top 10 countries with advanced systems of localizing callers in emergency cases.
