Number of companies exporting fruits to Russia doubled over past three years

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/- In the last three years, the list of Moldovan companies exporting fruit to the Russian Federation has practically doubled.

MP of the Socialist Party of the Republic of Moldova / PSRM / Mihail Paciu said on February 24 that out of the 334 companies in Moldova, 258 are exporting fruit to the Russian Federation.

"Following the insistence by President Igor Dodon, these companies obtained the right to export the production to Russia," he said.

Paciu also said that at the insistence of the head of state, from January 1, 2019, VAT was canceled for these companies, which resulted in saving hundreds of thousands of MDL for Moldovan producers.

"This money can be invested in business development," said PSRM MP Radu Mudreac.

According to statistics, in 2019, 250 thousand tons of Moldovan fruits were exported to Russia, compared to 220 thousand tons in 2018.
