Chisinau, 3 March /MOLDPRES/ - All people who suffered in the wake of labour accidents or professional diseases might receive an allowance worth 100 per cent of the average salary they earn. The MPs of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) have worked out a draft law to this end.
Under the document, all types of allowances for temporary incapacity for work will be calculated based on the insured income, carried out in the last 12 months. The draft’s authors said that the document’s implementation did not need additional spending; at the same time, uniform calculation of the social payments will be provided.
Presently, the monthly quantum of the allowance for temporary incapacity for work is established in a differentiated way, depending on the length of pensionable service or the disease the person is suffering from. Thus, 60 per cent from the calculation basis is paid in case of a length of pensionable service of 5 years, 70 per cent – in case of a length of pensionable service between 5 and 8 years and 90 per cent – more than 8 years. The quantum of the allowance for temporary incapacity for work, triggered by tuberculosis, AIDS or cancer, is of 100 per cent.
