Chisinau, 5 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today visited a company which invests in the creation of a network of charging electric vehicles and production of solar energy, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

„The World Energy Efficiency day is marked today and I am happy to know a company which contributes both to the energy efficiency and energy security of Moldova,” Ion Chicu said.

The project’s developer, Chiril Gaburici, informed the PM about the company’s investment intentions. A network of 70 stations for charging electric vehicles will be created, of which 20 – in Chisinau. The company has already invested in the creation of a park of photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 1 MW/hour in Comrat. Thus, electric cars will be fueled with green energy. The investor noted that, if the state prioritizes the consumption of green energy, the investment in the photovoltaic parks would increase. In the next four years, the enterprise plans investments worth 500,000 euros for extending the network of electric charging and another more than 15 million euros – in the production of solar energy.

The prime minister welcomed the investments in capacities of producing green energy and gave assurances that the government would consider possibility to back the increase in the consumption of green energy. These investments serve for the enhancement of Moldova’s energy autonomy and security.
