Number of people treated by COVID-19 exceeded 2,000

Chisinau, 12 May /MOLDPRES/- Yesterday, 89 people were released from hospital. Their total number treated by COVID-19 reached 2,069.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, so far 4,995 cases of COVID-19 infection have been confirmed in Moldova, of which 610 in Transnistria.

A number of 238 patients are in serious condition, 19 are connected to assisted breathing apparatus and 490 are hospitalized in medium severity.

So far, 1,197 cases of infection have been confirmed among health system employees, including: doctors - 285, nurses - 438, assistants - 64, paramedics - 1, pharmacists - 19, support staff – 390.

In the last 24 hours, three more deaths were recorded, reaching 179 deaths.

On 17 March - 15 May, state of emergency is declared in Moldova.
