Works on construction of Mihai Eminescu lyceum start in Comrat

Chisinau, 7 June /MOLDPRES/ - The works on construction of a new block for the Mihai Eminescu theoretical lyceum from the Comrat municipality (administrative centre of south Moldova Gagauz autonomy) started in the beginning of June and are planned to be carried out in 15 months.
Presently, the Mihai Eminescu lyceum has 15 classrooms. According to the authorities, the education institution’s extension will allow improving the education process, with possibility to register more children willing to study at this lyceum.
About 800 pupils will be able to study in the new block of the lyceum. ‘’The sports complex along with all needed rooms, nourishment block, canteen, festivities hall and library, the chemistry and biology laboratories will be in this building. The administrative department and two classrooms will be placed in this building too,’’ the headmaster of the Mihai Eminescu lyceum from Comrat, Svetlana Stoinova, said, cited by www.gagauzinfo.md.
The construction of the new block for this lyceum from Gagauzia, where subjects are taught in Romanian, will be made with Romania’s support. The neighbour country allocated 15 million lei to this end and the contribution of the Education, Culture and Research Ministry is 5.6 million lei.
