Moldovan electoral body works out draft instruction on prevention of COVID-19 infection during election

Chisinau, 6 August /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission / CEC / is working on plans and procedures to ensure the proper organization and conduct of elections in the context of the existing epidemiological situation.

According to a press release, the electoral authority worked out draft instruction on measures to prevent COVID-19 infection during the election period. The document was submitted for approval to the National Public Health Commission.

The instruction is an action plan that reflects how the CEC will manage the new local elections of September 6, 2020 and those for the position of President of the Republic of Moldova on November 1, 2020, in the context of the protection rules and other provisions issued by authorities.

The CEC invites interested parties to submit comments and proposals on the document by 15 August 2020. These should be sent to: [email protected]
