Agreement for water supply project of Cahul municipality signed

Chisinau, 7 August /MOLDPRES/- Moldova, represented by the Ministry of Finance, the German Bank Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) and Cahul municipality have recently signed an agreement to implement the grant and project EU for Moldova: Clean water for Cahul, worth ten million euros (grant). This is for infrastructure rehabilitation and expansion of water supply and sanitation in the southern region of Moldova.

The agreement represents a transfer of funds for the implementation of the project, provided to Moldova by the European Union under the EU Annual Action Program in Moldova for 2019. The financial means are provided through KfW Bank, under the contribution agreement between EU and KfW of December 2019.

The agreement is meant to co-finance the project Water supply and sewerage in Cahul district financed under the Financing and Project Agreement concluded on 1 August 2018 between KfW, Moldova and Cahul, according to which KfW offered a grant of 23.5 million euros.
