Dodon voiced hope that we will successfully pass this complicated period.

In terms of epidemiological situation, the head of state said that the government continues to manage it efficiently. He said that from 1 September Moldova opens the borders for citizens of the countries included in the "green list" such as the Russian Federation, Italy, Greece, Turkey and others. At the same time, our neighbors, Romania and Ukraine remain on “red list”.

Dodon noted that the government’s work efficiency is also manifested by the fact that this August the state budget revenues are 180 million lei more than in August 2019, despite the pandemic crisis, economic difficulties, drought etc. "Due to this fact, the government respects its socio-economic obligations towards farmers, economic agents and citizens", he said.

In another context, the officials approached election process, which begins on September 1. Thus, by September 11 initiative groups are formed to collect signatures in support of candidates.

Dodon urged all candidates to show fairness. He asked our foreign partners from East and West to delegate observers to Moldova.

Speaking about the activity of the parliament, Igor Dodon said that the parliamentary majority formed by the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party is at the limit, and in this context, a meeting of the leadership of both political parties will take place for discussions.

At the same time, he strongly reiterated that the current parliament should be dissolved as soon as possible, as it no longer corresponds to the results of the February 2019 parliamentary elections. He noted that talks with coalition partners will also include identifying solutions to dissolve parliament after the presidential election.
