Chisinau, 9 September /MOLDPRES/- There are three types of security challenges facing the Moldovan state, and the general dynamics of the climate in the world is less positive.

Director of the Intelligence and Security Service Alexandr Esaulenco said in an interview with MOLDPRES that "the dynamics of international security is less positive" and that in the world "there is no one hundred percent secure state".

"If we review several international surveys on the perception of personal security, the Republic of Moldova is in a good enough place, entering the top 50 states in this regard," said Esaulenco.

He said that at least three types of security challenges affect the national security of the Moldovan state. "These are classic security risks, such as regional developments and the interests of major international players in the region, energy security, hybrid challenges - frozen conflicts, cyber attacks and phenomenon of fake news," said Esaulenco.

He said that improving the legislative framework of the national security system would facilitate intelligence and special investigation. “Adopting the package of laws proposed by the SIS would significantly facilitate our work and adjust some institutional mechanisms to modern standards. Under the current conditions, a number of missions that could be facilitated by an appropriate regulatory framework are taking up a lot of time and institutional resources," he said.
