Moldovan parliament ratified new loan agreement with Japan

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan farmers will be able to access financial resources to benefit from new agricultural machinery and equipment under the Project Modernization of agricultural machinery and equipment, implemented with the support of Japan. MPs ratified the Loan Agreement between the government of the Republic of Moldova and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, as well as the Agreement with the government of Japan on granting a loan.

Japan will offer a preferential loan to Moldova worth about 18.65 million dollars to support Moldovan farmers.

Farmers will be able to access financial sources to benefit from agricultural machinery and equipment at a reduced price, exempt from VAT on import, with the possibility of payment in installments.

The loan is granted for a period of 40 years, with an annual interest rate of 0.1% and a grace period of 12 years.

The project has a national coverage and its benefits can be enjoyed by all farmers in Moldova.
