Moldovan PM meets Ambassador of Hungary

Chisinau, 7 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today had a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Hungary to Moldova Sándor Szabó . The officials reviewed subjects on the Moldovan-Hungarian bilateral relations, including on the dimension of strengthening the economic ties between Moldova and Hungary, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The sides held discussions on the development of the Moldovan-Hungarian strategic partnership and the developments in this respect. PM Ion Chicu noted that the signing, in last March, of the Joint Declaration for the Strategic Partnership between Moldova and Hungary contributed to the boosting of the political dialogue, development of the multidimensional cooperation between both countries; among the first goals, there are also the extension and deepening of the bilateral collaboration and backing Moldova’s European integration efforts.    

Ion Chicu highlighted the joint interest in the attraction of Hungarian investments in diverse priority sectors of Moldova’s economy. He praised the fact that Hungary continued being in the top of investors in Moldova. In this respect, the prime minister welcomed the continuous interest of companies from Hungary in Moldova as attractive destination for investments and extending the activity of Hungarian companies, which already work in the region. Also, the PM thanked for maintaining Moldova in the list of priority states for Hungary’s assistance, pointing out those over 40 projects in diverse sectors, implemented in Moldova with Hungary’s assistance.

Prime Minister Ion Chicu expressed gratitude for the assistance of Hungary’s government in delegating two experts, who consult national competent institutions in such fields as public money and agriculture.  

The PM thanked His Excellency for the constant support provided by the government of Hungary to back efforts of advancing the process of Moldova’s continuous transformation and modernization, as well as full support for the country’s European integration and continuous implementation of the Association Agreement with EU.
