Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic today had an official meeting with Head of the OSCE Mission in Moldova Claus Neukirch on a comprehensive list of subjects, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

A sensitive subject tackled at the meeting was a today’s movement of four vehicles from Tiraspol to the Cobasna-based depot of ammunitions, after a late notification had been received by the command of military and the Moldovan authorities did not accept. According to the notification received on 28 October this year, a column of seven vehicles was to move on the route Tiraspol-Cobasna-Tiraspol on 29-30 October 2020. The OSCE Mission was informed about the fixing of these events.

An ordinary meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) is held today. Moldova’s delegation has been tried to lead the meeting during several meetings, in the context of more incidents dealing with the problems of human rights, multiplication of destabilizing actions, as well as other relevant aspects.

A pressing problem brought for discussion was focused on the case of people kidnapped on 7-8 October this year, as well as on the situation of the two persons who continue to be detained, as well as the need to ensure their right to medical assistance, legal assistance and meeting with their relatives as first actions and as finality – their release. More OSCE member states condemned these actions at the meetings of the OSCE Permanent Council held in Vienna on 8, 15 and 22 October, during speeches given by Moldova. Chisinau insists on the release of the illegally detained people and removing the obstacles to movement for the state’s civil servants in the case of the kidnapped people from the Camenca district.

The prescription of a truthful behavior can be proved by deeds, or Chisinau deems it as good example the situation of transfer of a patient from Slobozia to a Chisinau-based hospital, which proves that, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the interaction between physicians from both banks of Dniester is vital for the providing of emergency medical assistance.

Another topic-related dimension regarded the implementation of the Berlin Plus Package, sustainability of results, feasibility of organizing a meeting in the 5+2 format till the end of this year, eventual priorities.

The sector of security, including of the citizens in the context of the new elections due on 1 November, was the object of the meeting. The officials noted the measures undertaken by the Reintegration Policies Bureau in cooperation with other authorities, exchange of information and data, as well as other aspects. The sides agreed that the OSCE Mission and the Bureau would coordinate, in working regime, eventual situations needing involvement on the day of the ballot.

At the meeting, the officials referred to the new challenges from the Camenca district, known as the detention of another person. The circumstances are established by law-enforcement bodies. The sides agreed on ensuring communication to clear up the situation.
