Chisinau, 11 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu chaired a cabinet meeting today.

According to the government’s press service, the participants in the meeting approved the appointment of Eugeniu Revenco as Moldova’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to France.

Among the important drafts approved at the meeting, there is the one on the quality requirements for more apicultural products meant for consumption. The draft is aimed at establishing minimally acceptable conditions of quality, safety of food products, which are to be observed at the production, processing, carriage and sale of apicultural products, coming both from the domestic production and import one.

Also, Moldova will join the protocol on the exchange of information in electronic format between the member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) on the purpose of the fiscal administration. The exchange of information is made proceeding from the mutual interest in strengthening the control over the observance of the fiscal legislation, full collection and in time of taxes in the CIS member states and in order to provide reciprocal assistance to this end. Having in view the close economic relations between the CIS member states, the exchange of fiscal information in electronic format will thus become a significant instrument for reducing the shadow economy, counteracting the illegal hiding of capital abroad and, not in the least, an additional source for significant budget revenues.

At the same time, at the cabinet meeting, PM Ion Chicu was informed about the level of preparation of the polling stations from abroad for the presidential polls’ runoff. Chicu thanked the authorities of the countries where Moldova’s embassies are accredited for having allowed opening the polling stations, despite the epidemiological situation.

Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi informed the prime minister that Moldova would have the same number of polling stations in the Diaspora as in the first round of the ballot. At the same time, the addresses of the polling stations from some settlements were changed and the information can be found of the official pages of the diplomatic missions.

„I want to address the citizens of Moldova to actively participate in the runoff of the presidential elections. This is an important exercise for our country, so that after 15 November, we continue the implementation of projects meant to improve the living in Moldova,’’ the PM added.
