Cost of health incurance policy to remain unchanged in Moldova in 2021

Chisinau, 2 December /MOLDPRES/ - The value of the mandatory health insurance policy in 2021 will remain at the level of this year and will be 4,056 lei.   

Under the draft law on the mandatory health insurances accounts (FAOAM), cuts worth 50, 60 and 75 per cent will be applied at the payment of the policy in the first three months of the next year. The premium in percentage form from the salary will be preserved at the level of 9 per cent.  

For 2021, revenues worth 11.144 billion lei and expenses amounting to 11.344 billion lei are provided for in FAOAM. The deficit of 200 million lei will be covered from the balance of financial means which is to appear in late 2020. Most of the AOAM accounts - more than 11.181 billion lei, are to be directed to the account for the payment of current medical services. The transfers from the state budget to the mandatory health insurances accounts for insuring the non-insured people are envisaged at 2.931 billion lei. At the same time, about 2.761 billion lei will be the transfers for increasing the salaries of the medical staff, including the stage of 30-per cent increase starting from 1 January 2021.     

Also, the FAOAM includes the covering of the expenses meant for the benefit for motivating the staff involved in providing medical assistance to people infected with COVID-19.
