Police, Chisinau city hall agents to conduct raids to combat itinerant trade

Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau city hall agents will undertake activities to prevent itinerant trade together with the police.

Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban requested today at the on-line meeting of the municipality's services, explanations on presence of street vendors in the Cathedral square. According to the mayor, at his request to leave the area because they violate the rules imposed by the authorities during pandemic, they clashed verbally with him. At the same time, Ceban said that the police did not intervene in due time on the spot.

The deputy head of the Chisinau Police Department, Lilian Luca, requested that the district praetors provide the detectives with a flexible schedule so that they can act together with the police against street vendors. "The provision to ban the activity of economic agents during the winter holidays arrived at the institution on Friday, and the actions to combat illicit activities will start today. We request a flexible program to work together ", said Luca.

As a measure to prevent COVID-19 infection, the Chisinau city hall banned the organization of Christmas fairs.
