National extraordinary public health commission rules on classes to be held online in Moldova's schools as of 21 December

Chisinau, 11 December /MOLDPRES/ - The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CNESP), at a today’s meeting, ruled that, during 21-24 December, all education institutions from the primary school, gymnasiums and lyceums would hold online classes. The decision was taken in the context of the constant worsening of the epidemiological situation in Moldova.     

CNESP also decided that, on 14-24 December, the extracurricular activities be suspended at the headquarters of the education institutions and be carried out only online.   

„The education activities on the occasion of the winter holidays in schools and kindergartens will be organized in classes/groups with the observance of the social distance, with the presence of only teachers/educators from the concerned class/group. The classes and groups will be provided with proper conditions for the hygiene/disinfection of hands. e education institution’s employees, as well as the pupils of the gymnasium and lyceum classes will compulsorily wear protection masks, ‘’ according to the CNESP decision No 37 from 11 December 2020.      

At the same time, Commission members ruled that the organization of festivities on the occasion of the winter holidays in the centres of excellence, colleges, vocational schools and universities would be banned.

Presently, Moldova is in state of emergency in the public health sector, established all over the country for the period 30 November 2020-15 January 2021. Once returning to the emergency state, more prevention measures and restrictions are valid in the country.
