17:03 | 15.12.2020 Category: Regional

Chisinau, 15 December /MOLDPRES/ - Three service of Mobile Team type today were launched within a European project. Thus, due to the cooperation between civil society’s organizations, local public authorities and development partners, children and adults with severe disabilities from the districts of Donduseni, Glodeni and Leova will have more chances for physical and emotional rehabilitation.

The Mobile Team services will provide the needs of home assistance for 170 children and adults with disabilities.

”The Mobile Team’s specialists move in villages, in particular. The families where the disabled people live have more obstacles and challenges. Many times, the families do not financially afford to move to the district centre or to a bigger city, in order to benefit from services of a logopedist, physiotherapist or psychologist. The families also face lack of accessibility to local infrastructure, sometimes – discrimination or stigmatization. Therefore, the work of Mobile Teams gives support and hope to hundreds of families from all over the country,’’ a programme manager at the Keystone Moldova Association, Parascovia Munteanu, said.

The Mobile Teams were endowed with a transport means each, which is to ensure the mobility and quickness of services’ accessing. The project was developed due to the accessing of European grants worth about 150,000 euros. The local district councils contributed with co-financing and after the projects are completed, these councils will take these services under their subordination.

In Moldova, there are 33 organizations benefiting from grants within the project, Better social services within a sustainable partnership between the civil society and the government, financed by the European Union, co-financed and implemented by the Soros Moldova Foundation, in partnership with the Keystone Moldova Association, Alliance of NGOs Active in Social Protection of Child and Family and the Alliance of Organizations for People with Disabilities.
