Chisinau, 17 December /MOLDPRES/- Yesterday the cabinet approved the amendment to the Law on Vine and Wine to ensure the transparency of the current mechanism for managing, calculating, collecting and recording contributions to the Vine and Wine Fund, as well as to support wine producers by reducing financial costs as contributions to the Fund.

"The aim is to exclude ambiguities related to the formation and management of the budget of the National Office of Vine and Wine and the Vine and Wine Fund. At the same time, some changes are to support producers in the wine sector, reducing their financial burden by reducing financial expenses paid as contributions to the Fund. Thus, it will not be paid for the grapes vinified in Moldova and for the raw material produced in the country - it will be paid only for a liter of bottled product. As a consequence, the implementation of the proposed rules will ensure clarity and increase the effectiveness of the management of the means allocated in the Vine and Wine Fund. Also, they will increase the attractiveness of the branch for the actors in the sector and will ensure the sustainable development of the wine sector ", Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ion Perju said.

He said that the approval of the draft decision sets out principles and values promoted by the European Union, and the implementation does not require additional financial expenditures of the state budget.

The draft law was worked out by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment to implement the recommendations of the Court of Accounts set out in the October 2019 decision on the Audit Report on the conformity management of the Vine and Wine Fund resources.
