One-off child-birth allowance to be 9,460 lei in Moldova as of 2021, by 1,160 lei higher than at present

Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/ - The size of the one-off child-birth allowance as of 2021 will increase by 1,160 lei and will stand at 9,459 lei, and it is 8,299 lei at present. Forty two million lei was provided for in the state budget for allowances’ allocation for 36,245 children, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The decision was approved at a today’s cabinet meeting chaired by PM Ion Chicu, and is aimed at backing the families for bringing up children.

Also, the cabinet will increase the monthly allowance for taking care of child up to the age of 2 years to non-insured people: from 640 to 740 lei. The government planned financial means amounting to 52 million lei meant for 42,558 children.

The draft also sees the increase in the monthly support allowance for the bringing up of twin children of more children born in a single pregnancy up to the age of 3 years from 320 to 370 lei. As much as 2.4 million lei was envisaged for 4,014 children to this end for 2021.
