Maia Sandu also gave a speech after being sworn in the office of Moldova’s President. ‘’A person like me would have never become president in a country with such problems as in Moldova, without your enthusiasm, involvement and perseverance. I am person like you, an ordinary person, a daughter of this nation, who took the office angry on the corruption in this country. In last November, you gave the biggest capital of confidence to a president. I enter the gates of the Presidency with your precious hopes today. I want to thank those who understood that Moldova needs each of you and ask you to go together in continuation. The victory must be of the country, not of the politicians. I have big plans for our country and I need your help. I will be a president uniting the citizens and promoting the people based on their merits and I will always say the truth. I will be a president of the European integration, who will take the country out of isolation and will promote a foreign policy due to build bridges and not walls. Dear citizens, I do not have another care in the next four years but the good of Moldova. We will soon start the fight for the country’s transformation,’’ Maia Sandu said.

The head of state gave speeches also in the Russian, Ukrainian and Gagauz languages.
