17:03 | 28.12.2020 Category: Political

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) does not regard the snap elections as a goal in itself and the main issue remains what will happen in the country, who prepares Moldova for snap elections and who manages the crisis. PDM leader Pavel Filip made statements to this effect at the end of consultations with President Maia Sandu.

Dumitru Diacov, Pavel Filip and Alexandru Jizdan participated in the consultations with the head of state. The discussions started at 15:00 and lasted almost one hour. Subsequently, Pavel Filip said that ‘’Moldova needs snap parliamentary elections, taking into account all things which have happened in this parliament.’’

„We do not regard the snap polls as a goal in itself. The main question is what happens in Moldova on all this period? Who manages the pandemic crisis? Who manages the economic crisis? Who prepares the country for free and fair parliamentary elections? The answers to these questions represent the priority No 1 and then we talk about the snap parliamentary polls,’’ Filip said.

Pavel Filip also said that the formation he leads had more professionals and informed the Moldovan president that he offered himself with all openness, if needed, to provide the contribution to the crisis management.

Today morning, President Maia Sandu said she would have consultations with all parliamentary factions and groups. So far, Maia Sandu has had consultations with the faction of the Party of Socialists, Action and Solidarity Party and the lawmakers of the Dignity and Truth Platform Party, PDM and Shor Party.
