Chisinau, 31 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Order of the Republic today was awarded to the departed actor Vladimir Ciobanu, under the Decree by Moldova’s President, as a token of deep homage for the special merits in the promotion of the theatrical art and in training new talents, for the prestigious artistic career and high professional mastership showed in playing memorable parts in theatre and movies.

The distinction was handed to the daughter of the departed artist, Ioana Ciobanu-Botan.

„I experienced today extremely moving moments along with the children and brother of the departed Vlad Ciobanu, the embodiment of the human talent, dedication and sacrifice for the sake of art. I spoke about Vlad, about his plays of big courage, which I was always eager to watch, about the fate of this artist, who burned too quickly, but who left light behind him.

I tried to find words to relieve their grief, as I am sure that, from the Heaven, Vlad would like to see them happy and accomplished. He would like to see them living for the same ideals and the same values. The talent, dedication, professionalism and honour must be re-put on the forefront. And to pay homage to the merits of the departed actor and professor, Vlad Ciobanu, I awarded him posthumously the highest state distinction, the Order of the Republic.

Vlad Ciobanu passed away to another world, from where he will continue to light the way of the disciples in whom he invested spirit, in whom he educated value and dignity, just as he did it for his own children,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
