More than 3,500 policemen to ensure public order in Moldova during winter holidays

Chisinau, 6 January /MOLDPRES/ - More than 3,500 policemen and carabineers will ensure the public order during the winter holidays.

According to the police, in the last ten days, over 2,500 policemen were involved in ensuring public order; yet, this number was not enough, as over 700 offences were recorded, of which four murders, two murder attempts, 60 thefts from apartments, 20 cases of domestic violence and 55 serious traffic accidents. On this period, patrol agents registered 115 cases of suspicions of driving drunk.

Law-enforcers warn residents not to leave their homes without supervision when they visit other people, avoid agglomerated places and buy pyrotechnical products only in authorized places.  

They remind especially to young people that the entertainment pubs can work only till 22:00, and if they do not observe these provisions, they run the risk of being fined. At the same time, both sellers and people who purchase plastic bags and dishes can be fined.  

The quoted source said that, on 6-10 January, patrol inspectors and police agents would be present on the main national roads, in the places with risk of occurring of traffic accidents and in the peak hours, in order to ease the movement.
