Moldovan president has meeting with director of National Anticorruption Centre

Chisinau, 6 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with the director of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), Ruslan Flocea.

„I expressed firm confidence that the real fight against corruption is essential for being able to develop Moldova and improve the citizens’ living. I asked for information on the work carried out on the inquiries initiated in 2019, including the ones dealing with the procurements in the health sector, in order to disclose corruption schemes. At the same time, we discussed the Centre’s involvement in big corruption files and the CNA’s cooperation with the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, as well as the actions of courts.

The combating of corruption, especially among the highest officials and civil servants, is a priority for me as President. I will militate in favour of edification of functional and independent institutions, so that we can ensure the effecting fighting of the corruption phenomenon in Moldova,’’ Maia Sandu said.
