As many as 424 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 9 January /MOLDPRES/ -A number of 2,422 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 424 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed. As many as 149,093 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data put out by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 21 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians –9, medical assistants –7 and auxiliary staff employees –5.

A number of 2,437 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are put in hospitals, of whom 236 are in extremely serious condition (52 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

Another 687 people have been treated. As many as 138,103 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

In the context, 4,999 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 24,301 are under supervision at the domicile.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another eight deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 3,130 people have died of coronavirus in all.
