8 new trolleybuses to run on streets of Chisinau in 2021

Chisinau, 11 January /MOLDPRES/- Eight trolleybuses from Belarus have arrived in Chisinau and will soon run on the streets of the capital.

The Chisinau municipality announced that the eight trolleybuses purchased in Belarus have arrived in Chisinau. They are equipped with air conditioning and internal surveillance video circuit and LED-based lamps and access ramp for people with special needs.

At the same time, the municipal authorities announced at the online meeting of the municipal services that on Saturday and Sunday, a tourist trolleybus will be tested on the streets of Chisinau. According to Deputy Mayor Inga Ionesii, the trolleybus will depart from Chisinau Airport and will have a route that will cover the most important tourist attractions in Chisinau. During the week, the means of transport will run on one of the usual routes served by the Chisinau Electric Transport Authority.

In late 2020, five new articulated trolleybuses from Belarus, five trolleybuses of Solaris model and ten classic SKODA trolleybuses purchased in Riga, were launched on the streets of Chisinau.

Another 22 classic trolleybuses purchased from the Belarusian manufacturer will arrive in the capital in March.
