Bank employee sentenced to 5 years in prison after stealing over 3.5 million lei

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/- The ex-head of the house of the Râșcani branch of a financial-banking institution was sentenced to 5 years and 7 months in prison, after stealing from the house of the institution over 3.5 million lei.

According to the General Prosecutor's Office, in February - June 2020, working as the head of the house of a banking institution and having free access to financial means, the woman stole over 3.5 million lei from the institution's house.

The defendant admitted her guilt, saying she needed money to pay for the services of a clairvoyant.

In addition to the prison sentence, the court ordered the collection from the defendant's account for the benefit of the banking institution of the damage caused by the crime.
