Moldovan authorities to provide merit scholarships to performance sportspeople in 2021too

Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/ - The performance sportspeople will continue to benefit from merit scholarship provided by the authorities in 2020.

At a today’s meeting, the government ruled that 80 performance sportspeople, who had benefited from governmental scholarship on behalf of authorities in 2020, continue to receive this financial support. Under the decision, the sportspeople will benefit from this scholarship, if they fulfill certain conditions: received this scholarship in 2020, the cancellation/postponing of sports competitions took place because of fortuitous combination of circumstances; the sportsman suffered from a disease/injury got while participating in trainings, training camps or sports competitions, with the presentation of confirmatory acts.

The Moldovan sportspeople were running the risk of remaining without this merit scholarship in 2021 because of the pandemic restrictions, which could not allow their participation in international sports competitions.
