About 200 million lei to be earmarked for financing regional development projects in Moldova in 2021

Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/ - The members of the National Council of Coordination of Regional Development (CNCDR) on 28 January distributed financial means of the National Regional Development Fund (FNDR) for 2021. Thus, under the state budget law for this year, the overall value of FNDR is 220 million lei.
As much as 200 million lei of the total sum will be distributed to implement regional development projects and another 20 million lei – for expenses of organization and work of the Regional Development Agencies from North, Central and South Moldova, as well as the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia.
„The FNDR financial means will be distributed depending on the number of residents from the development regions. The decision by the CNCDR members is: allocating about 80 million lei for the North Development Region, 82 million lei – for the Centru Development Region, about 44 million lei – for South Development Region and the UTA Gagauzia Development Region will benefit from about 13 million lei,’’ a state secretary at the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry (MADRM), Dorin Andros, said.
The MADRM official noted that, in the process of selecting the projects proposed for financing in 2021, the ministry had taken into account the results of the implementation of projects included in the Single Programme Document for 2017-2020. ‘’Next spring, we plan to approve the Single Programme Document for the period 2021-2023,’’ Dorin Andros specified.
Last year, about 170 million lei out of the FNDR’s overall budget of also 220 million lei was spent for implementing 26 projects and another 14 million lei – for organization and work of the Regional Development Agencies.
