Cultural center for development of carpet art to be set up in Gaidar village

Chisinau, 2 February /MOLDPRES/- A cultural center for the development of carpet art and youth leisure will be set up in Gaidar, Gagauzia.
According to mayor of the village Ilia Kiosia, the center is to be located in the building of the former primary school, which for many years was used as a branch of the kindergarten, after which it remained unused due to the decrease in the number of children in the locality.
The village authorities plan to arrange a Carpet Museum, Ethnographic Museum, cinema hall, rooms for training children etc.
The project works are estimated at about six million lei. The city hall participates in the program, in which it is planned to attract investments worth three million lei for implementation of the first stage of reconstruction of the Cultural Center in Gaidar.
Since 2013, Gaidar village, Ceadâr-Lunga district, hosts a regional carpet festival, Gagauz kilimneri, which is included in the national map of tourist destinations.
