Chinese New Year marked at Ion Creanga National Library for Children from Moldova

Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Ion Creanga National Library for Children, in partnership with the Embassy of China in Moldova, today organized an online holiday dedicated to the Chinese New Year or Spring Festival.   

Attending the event were Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China to Moldova Zhang Yinghong, the secretary I of the Chinese Embassy in Chisinau, Wang Yifeng, the director of the Confucius Institute at the Free International University of Moldova, Radu Plamadeala, the Chinese Centre from Chisinau, pupils who study the Chinese language from Chisinau, Stefan Voda and Cahul.       

In his speech, Ambassador Zhang Yinghong said that Moldova and China had a traditional friendship and the cultural exchanges had always been a belt of connection between the two nations. ‘’The Embassy of China will further back and promote the Moldovan-Chinese cultural exchanges and will edify a bridge of communication between the two peoples,’’ the Chinese official said.   

For her part, the director of the Ion Creanga National Library for Children, Eugenia Bejan, said that the institution she leads had been marking the Chinese New Year as of 2008 and the Embassy of China had made important donations of books to the library.

The participants in the event received books, albums and souvenirs on behalf of China’s Embassy.
