Emergency state in health care sector extended in Moldova till 15 April 2021

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - The emergency state in the public health sector is extended till 15 April 2021, with possibility to revise it. The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CNESP) approved a decision to this end and finds outs that the epidemiological situation remains unfriendly, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.     

In the sixth week from 2021, the number of COVID-19 cases grew by 17.9 per cent against the fifth one. In the last 14 days, the orange alert code has been recorded in nine areas (Cahul, Causeni, Donduseni, Falesti, Rezina, Rascani, Soroca, Stefan Voda, Ungheni) and the red code of alert is registered in another 29 areas.   

CNESP established additional restriction measures to prevent the spread of Sars-Cov-2. One of these measures regards the work of the commercial centres from Moldova, which will be ceased on the week-end days as of 17 February 2021. Starting from this day, the work of commercial markets is restricted too; they will be opened only on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays, except for the agricultural markets.     

At the same time, the Commission reduced the minimal number of participants in festive events in public nourishment units, from 50 to 20 guests at the most. The presence of spectators in movie theatres remains banned. Also, on this period, the activity of night clubs and discotheques will be prohibited too.     

CNESP also ruled to limit the number of passengers in the railway and road transport in the municipal, district and inter-district traffic to 50 per cent of embarkation capacity. The economic agents which work in close spaces will have to ensure the concomitant presence of consumers inside based on the norm 1 visitor per four square metres of free commercial area, the area available without commercial equipment.     

At the same time, employees of the central administrative authorities subordinated to the government will continue working according to a special schedule of work as of 7:30 till 16:00 and dinner break starting from 12:00 till 12:30, with subsequent revision, depending on the epidemiological situation. For the moment, CNESP maintains the present education regime, but it will rigorously monitor the evolution of the number of infections, in order to consider possibility to return to the online education regime at education institutions.
