Well-known Moldovan actors marks 75th birthday anniversary

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - A theatre and movie actor, People’s Artist, employer of the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre (TNME) Nicolae Darie turns 75 today.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the TNME director general, Petru Hadarca, said that it was a great luck for the new generation of actors to be on stage by the side of Nicolae Darie, who has dedicated himself to the theatre art during more than half a century. ‘’Nicolae Darie is a living legend of the theatre, a model of expression on stage. He can pronounce words in a special way. Many listeners recognize his voice from the radio plays, in which he has been playing for years in a row,’’ Petru Hadarca stressed.
For his part, People’s Artist Iurie Negoita stressed that Nicolae Darie was monumental on stage, with his lesson learned and actress Dina Cocea described him as ‘’a quite gifted actor, an excellent father, formidable husband, a man of his word and a reliable fiend.’’
Nicolae Darie was born in the Blindesti village, western Ungheni district, on 16 February 1946. In 1969, he graduated from the A. Lunacharsky Russian Institute of Theatre Arts from Moscow, theatre and movie actor specialty. In the same year, Darie was employed at the Chisinau-based Mihai Eminescu National Theatre, where he has worked till present.
Nicolae Darie started his career of actor in 1967, in the Serghei Lazo movie, where he played the part of a guard. During his activity both at the theatre and in cinematography, he has played more than 100 parts in 16 films and in over 100 plays.
For his fruitful artistic activity, Nicolae Darie was awarded the Labour Glory order (2006), Prize for the Best Man’s Part, Gala of UNITEM (Theatrical Union of Moldova) Prizes (2009), the medal The Good-faith Rler Stephen the Great and Holy (2009), Veniamin Apostol medal (2013, UNITEM), Victor Ciutac prize (Gala of UNITEM Prizes, 2016), etc. In 2011, the actor was awarded the honorific title People’s Artist.
