Moldovan acting PM meets EU Ambassador to Moldova

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi and EU Ambassador to Moldova Peter Michalko tackled the recent developments on the bilateral agenda of the Moldova-European Union dialogue at a meeting today.   

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, Ambassador Michalko informed about the preliminary results of the mission of formulation of the Multi-annual Indicative Programme (MIP) 2021-2027 – a document of strategic planning of the European assistance meant for Moldova. One of the priority sectors in this respect will be the economic field. Also, EU will back processes of good governance and supremacy of law, digital transformation, environment policies, promotion of an inclusive society.  

For his part, the acting PM stressed the importance of advancing the comprehensive reform in the justice sector and combating corruption, as one of the basic conditions for making progress in the other sectors. Also, Prime Minister Ciocoi pointed out the need to improve the quality of education in Moldova’s education system.  

In another context, the sides exchanged opinions on the epidemiological situation and efforts as to the accessing of the stock of anti-COVID-19 vaccine. Acting PM Aureliu Ciocoi expressed thanks for the assistance provided by EU to combat the pandemic.
