Moldovan deputy premier meets special representative of Russia

Chisinau, 18 February /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Olga Cebotari had a working meeting today with Special Representative of the Russian Federation in the negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement Vitalii Treapitsin, who was accompanied by Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Moldova Oleg Vasnetov.

According to the Office for Reintegration Policy, the officials' dialogue focused on the latest developments in the negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement, the dynamics of interaction in existing dialogue platforms, the level of implementation of the agreements agreed in the so-called Berlin plus package, exchanges of views and ideas on possible ways to boost identifying and implementing viable solutions to current issues and on the negotiating agenda.

The deputy premier highlighted the priority issues for Chisinau to be promoted this year, and human rights and free movement between the two banks of the Dniester, efficient organization of the pandemic health protection process , maintaining an active interaction in all agreed negotiating formats and convening the next round of the 5 + 2 format.

It was also noted the relaunch of the work of the sectoral working groups, noting that four meetings have already taken place this year, including two meetings of health experts with the participation of representatives of the World Health Organization and the coordination of potential joint actions in organizing the anti-COVID-19 immunization process on both banks of the Dniester river.

Given the presence at the meeting of the leaders of the delegations of the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation in the Joint Control Commission, the problems in the Security Zone and issues related to ensuring a productive activity of the Commission and the Joint Military Command were discussed.

In the context of the elements set out in the OSCE Ministerial Council Declaration of 4 December 2020, the Berlin+  package, the priorities of the OSCE Presidency-in-Office and Chisinau, they voiced desire and necessary efforts to boost the dynamics of the Chisinau-Tiraspol dialogue and resolving the urgent difficulties facing the population.
