As many as 1,028 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 19 February /MOLDPRES/ -A number of 3,731 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,028 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed. As many as 175,183 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 57 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians - 25, medical assistants –22 and auxiliary staff -10.

As many as 3,318 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of whom 296 are in extremely serious condition (52 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 5,503 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 16,027 are under supervision at home.

Another 688 people have been treated. As many as 160,619 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 22 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 3,739 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus also killed two medical employees – an assistant at the Ceadar-Lunga District Hospital and a therapist from Cantemir. Eighty five medial employees have died because of the coronavirus infection so far.
