Over 1,800 drivers fined on weekend

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/- On weekend, over 1,800 drivers were fined by employees of the National Inspectorate of Public Security/ INSP /, as they drove with deviations, of which 853 drivers exceeded the speed limit.

According to INSP, also 31 drivers were found driving drunk and 160 violated the rules of stopping and not giving priority to pedestrians and other participants in road traffic.

At the same time, the patrol inspectors intervened in 109 requests from citizens through 112 service.

Due to careless drivers, there were 11 road accidents in the country, resulting in 10 people being injured and two dead.

INSP employees have recently intensified patrolling throughout the country, to discourage and prevent drunk driving and speeding, which are the main causes of road accidents.
