New operation room inaugurated at Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery from Moldova

Chisinau, 3 March /MOLDPRES/ - A new operation room, endowed with medical apparatus ensuring aseptic security on the pandemic period, was inaugurated at the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery today.   

The repair of the operation room lasted two years; it was endowed with advanced medical apparatus, such as cerebral and spinal neuronavigator, mobile 3D radiology apparatus with arm, operation microscope and anaesthesis apparatus.    

In the new room, all apparatus are connected into an integrated information system, which minimizes the use of information on paper or film, reducing the risk of nosocomial infections. More exactly, the information about the patient which physicians get from medical apparatus is summed and permanently updated.    

The room was equipped with an advanced ventilation system, the setting of which will contribute to the exclusion of the penetration of infections and contamination in the operations’ area, as well as to maintaining a clean air.

At the same time, a video system is installed in the operation room, which will allow broadcasting live the surgical interventions in the study room, thus giving students and residents possibility to better learn the ways and techniques specific to various pathologies and to also communicate with colleagues from other states online.  

The operation room’s renovation was carried out with the support of the investment project from the development fund of the National Health Insurances Company. The works cost seven million lei.
