Seven people poisoned by carbon monoxide in last days

Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/- Seven people, including a minor, have been poisoned with carbon monoxide in recent days. The poisoning cases took place in Orhei and Ungheni.

According to the National Center for Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance, on the first night of spring, the Emergency Service was requested for four people, who suffered as a result of a fire in a house in Orhei. On the spot, doctors found a 14-year-old minor, a woman and two men aged between 34 and 71, who needed medical attention following an acute carbon monoxide poisoning. The patients were transported to Orhei district hospital.

Another case took place on 2 March in Ungheni district. Three people, aged between 19 and 49, received first aid at the pre-hospital stage following monoxide poisoning. Subsequently, the emergency medical teams transported the people to the Ungheni district hospital.

In the last 48 hours, the emergency medical teams served 4,806 requests and transported 1,775 people to the hospital, including 126 children.

During this period, 20 requests for toxic emergencies were registered with the Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Service, including seven cases of acute carbon monoxide poisoning.
