Moldovan speaker meets head of Council of Europe Office in Chisinau

Chisinau, 5 March /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Zinaida Greceanii had a meeting today with William Massolin, head of the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau. Attending the event were head of the legal committee on rules and immunities Vasile Bolea and Acting Minister of Justice Fadei Nagacevschi, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

The meeting focused on steps due to be taken for the adoption and implementation of the Strategy on ensuring independence and integrity of justice for 2021-2024 and action plan for its implementation.

The speaker pointed out the importance of promoting the strategy.

Vasile Bolea also noted the importance to promote the strategic document and broad political consensus in parliament on the issue.

Fadei Nagacevschi said that the draft strategy on ensuring independence and integrity of justice sector for 2021-2024 includes all recommendations of the Council of Europe and all debts of Moldova in relation to development partners on justice last 10 years.

William Massolin stressed the importance of a very broad political consensus, and voiced confidence that there are issues that can be achieved.
