Moldova's foundation launched breast screening project for employees in health care

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/- A foundation in Moldova has launched a breast screening project dedicated to doctors, nurses in medical institutions. In 2021, over 200 women will be able to benefit from free investigations for the prevention of breast cancer.

All services are provided free of charge within the project.

According to statistics, over a thousand women are diagnosed annually with breast cancer in Moldova. Due to lack of time or resources, one's own health is sometimes neglected and those life-saving prophylactic controls are postponed. However, a serious diagnosis such as breast cancer can be treated with maximum chances of success only if it is detected in time. In countries with advanced medicine, the rate of complete cure in breast cancer is over 90-95% and the Republic of Moldova can achieve this performance through early screening.
