Two colleges from northern Moldova to benefit from EU support for modernization

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/-  Agroindustrial Colleges of Râșcani and Gheorghe Răducan from Grinăuți village, Ocnița district will benefit from EU support to modernize their technical-didactic laboratories. The investment projects presented by the two educational and research institutions were recently approved during a meeting of the working group on the evaluation of investment programs in the horticultural field, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MADRM).

The projects provide for total investments of about 1.7 million euros for the modernization of the teaching-material base with a horticultural profile, the purchase of equipment for planting and harvesting, as well as for the establishment of teaching lots.

The total value of the investment project of the Agroindustrial College from Râșcani is about 700 thousand euros. The money will be offered for the construction and endowment of the teaching laboratory, the purchase of horticultural equipment for planting and harvesting hetero-oil plants. The contribution of the educational institution is 51%.

The total investment at the Gheorghe Răducan Agroindustrial College in Grinăuți will amount to about one million euros. The money will be offered for the creation of the technical-didactic laboratory in agricultural mechanics and the endowment of the microbiology laboratory. The educational institution participates with 54% of the project value.


The projects aim at increasing the quality and relevance of technical vocational education in cultivation and use of hetero-oil plants, oriented to the requirements of the national economy, as well as to qualitatively train specialists in the horticultural sector.

Both technical vocational education institutions assume the obligation to implement the projects by 2024.


The investments are made under Livada Moldovei Project initiated by the Moldovan government and supported by the European Investment Bank. About 12 million euros were planned for investment in the rehabilitation and endowment of educational and research institutions with a horticultural profile. The money is a loan from the European Investment Bank. The project is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment.
