Moldovan government approves regulation on setting quantum of diesel from assistance provided by Romania

Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/ - The acting government today approved a regulation on establishing the quantum of diesel from the external humanitarian assistance provided by Romania, meant for the farmers hit by drought in 2020.  

Under the cabinet decision, the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry (MADRM), through the Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA), will set the list of potential beneficiaries and the quantum of diesel fitting the level of hitting by the drought, in line with the Regulation’s provisions.     

AIPA will submit to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MPMPS), including the interdepartmental commission for humanitarian assistance, the list of potential beneficiaries of external humanitarian assistance provided by Romania, within the limit of the quantity of 6,000 tons of diesel, for the taking of a decision on its proper distribution. The period of submitting the applications on asking for the material assistance in diesel will be 21 days as of the date of entrance into force of the present decision.    

The information on the deadline for submitting the applications, including the preliminary list of potential beneficiaries of assistance, will be placed on the official webpages of the Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture and MADRM. The control over the carrying out of the present decision is entrusted with the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry and the decision enters into force on the date of its publication in Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).   

According to the regulation approved by the Moldovan government, the assistance is provided to the applicant who suffered damages in the wake of the drought at the plant growing crops recorded in 2020. The assistance is provided if, under the damage and inspection report, the drought hit 60 per cent and more of the harvest of the plant growing crops for the harvest of 2020. To get the assistance, the applicant must meet the following conditions: to prove the holding or the fact of tilling of lands sowed with plant growing crops, for the harvest of the 2020 year; the damage and inspection reports presented should contain truthful data and should be compiled in the term established by the Regulation’s provisions.
