Moldovan MPs hold minute of silence in memory of Nicolae Dabija

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/- Parliament plenary meeting started today with a minute of silence held by MPs in memory of Nicolae Dabija, who died in the morning.
Speaker Zinaida Greceanii said that throughout his life, Nicolae Dabija dedicated himself to literature and national values. "We are deeply saddened by this great loss," Greceanii said.
Nicolae Dabija was a writer, publicist, literary historian, politician, signatory of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova. In 1989-1991 he was a MP in the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, and in 1990-1994 and 1998-2001 - a deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
